By holy honor, by blood right, and by the sacred vow sworn before the High Altar, heed my decree!

I lift high my blessed iron against the shadow that creepeth over these domains. Bound by the solemn Oath of Devotion, I stand as a pillar of light in this age of wrath and steel. I shall be the bulwark for the defenseless, the vigilant keeper of the innocent, and the swift undoing of wicked kings. Let the true of heart find sanctuary under my banner, and let the false-hearted tremble, for they shall find no grace under the weight of my righteous vengeance.

THE SACRED STATUTES WRITTEN UPON MY SHIELD

I. Honor: My covenant is an iron bond, never to be broken. I shall deal justly with noble friend and bitter foe alike, that my deeds may find favor in the heavens.

II. Courage: I shall not quail, nor turn my steed in the hour of peril, oppression, or overwhelming host. Where dark terror aboundeth, my holy zeal shall illuminate the path.

III. Compassion: My might is no instrument of tyranny, but a grace to raise up the smitten, bind the wounded, and give refuge to the helpless.

IV. Duty: I am the first to break the enemy's vanguard and the last to quit the blood-drenched field. I stand answerable for my domain and for all souls committed to my keeping.
